What
is the Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Registry?
Originally
established in 1994 by Stu Robbins and Dennis Riddell, the
Registry was reorganized during the first Pace Car Reunion
held at the National Corvette Museum in October, 2001. The
Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Registry is now intended as a
gathering place for owners and enthusiasts of all Corvette
Pace Cars.
Here are
some of our guiding principles:
We are seeking affiliation with owners of all Corvette Pace
Cars, especially those that have participated in the Indianapolis
500 race.
All owners of Corvette Indy Pace Cars are welcome, especially,
but not limited to the 5 years (1978, 1986, 1995, 1998, 2007)
in which official replicas were produced by General Motors.
While there were no replicas produced by GM, we welcome owners
of Corvettes which are faithful reproductions of the Pace
Cars used in Indianapolis in Corvette Pace Car-designated
years. This includes 2003 50th Anniversary cars, with factory-produced
2002 Indy Pace Car decals, and authenticated replicas of other
years (such as 2004, 2005, and 2006).
Owners of Indy Festival/Dealer Promotion Corvettes, as well
as others interested in Corvette Pace Cars, are also welcome
as members of the Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Registry.
We are
a proud family of Corvette Pace Car enthusiasts; and our idea
is to be more rather than less inclusive for Corvette Pace
Cars, to document all members' cars, and to keep track of
as many of these specialty Corvettes as we can. Ultimately,
the information will be of use to the National Corvette Museum,
which we support, and to members who wish to know about the
origins and history of their Corvette Pace Cars.
If you
are the owner of one these unique Corvettes, please take the
time and register your vehicle in the Chevrolet Corvette Pace
Car Registry.
We hope
that you also take the time to become a full Member of the
Registry. By contributing a small amount, you will gain access
into our website, which includes a Bulletin Board and large
(growing daily) library that contains information about Corvette
Pace Cars, memorabilia, Indy 500 official track vehicles,
and much more. JOIN
